Hi everyone and a Happy New Year!

Well after a sad end to 2012

it's time for a fresh start

and new creations

It's been great therapy

being absorbed once again

creating new things

and I know that's just what

Mum would have wanted me to be doing

After all, I got much of my creative

talent and inspiration from her

So I'll just show you a little of what

I've been up to lately

I've made a small collection of

Paris shabby bags

A Sad Farewell

31.3.1926 - 14.12.2012

This week my heart was broken

I had to say goodbye

to my beautiful Mother

and my beautiful friend

It all happened so fast

I still can't believe

she's no longer here

She was the best Mum to 

my Sister and I

a wonderful Nana

to our daughters

and a very proud and

devoted great grandmother

to her three great grandsons

She will be sadly missed

this Christmas

and her memory

will remain forever

in our hearts

R.I.P. Mum

    

Difficult Times

Haven't blogged for quite

a while now

We are currently facing

some difficult times

in our family

My dear Mum

who already survived

a battle with cancer

earlier in her life

is now facing

its return at 86 years of age

Some times life can be so cruel

one can't help but wonder

why a bright, happy & loving,

86 year old Mother, grandmother,

& great grandmother

would need to face this battle once more, 

at this stage of her life

I know there are many more out

there suffering similar trials

and we are not alone

So for the moment 

I just need to focus on

Helping her to get through this

from day to day

There is a good part though

and that is it brings

home just what's important

to us in life, good health

and a loving family,

and all those trivial things

we tend to fuss over,

not to mention material things,

etc., they just fade into

insignificance at times like these

So if you've been wondering,

this is why I've been absent

from my blogging for a while,

I'll be back when I can

look after yourselves

and your families

Just finished this paper collage journal

I've added a little hand made pocket

Repurposed Shabby Office Chair

Hi everyone hope you've all had a 

good week

I've been busy this week

up dating an old office chair

for my own use in my craft room

I picked up this chair for a song

in a second hand store

I immediately decided it need 

prettying up

so began searching through

my stash of fabrics

and found the perfect

patchwork print that matches

the colours of my room

I found a few doileys

that worked well to give

a shabby look

then finished with a row

of vintage braid along the top 

of the chair

another doiley and 

a touch of ribbon and button at the back

The entire project only took me

a couple of days to complete,

in between doing other things,

and I felt pleased that

I only had to purchase the chair

I was able to find everything

I needed in my stash to finish it

I'm so pleased to have this

comfy, pretty & shabby

chair to sit on while

I'm creating!
