Top of Collar Box Lid

This is what I mean about the strap over the top of the collar box. I can only paint something on either side of it, so makes it tricky, but it definately needs something.

I've almost finished painting on this old vintage collar box. Just some more work to be done on the little annie brooch I've added on ted's collar. Also I have to decide what to put on the front of the lid as it needs something, but I'm restricted with painting because of the strap coming over the top of the lid. Any suggestions??

Farewell Little Bears!!

Mum's little bears have now been adopted and are now on their way to new homes. Was sad to see them go, but am grateful they're on their way to a new home where they'll be loved and cherished.

But keep watching as there will be more bears up for adoption in a week or two.

Enjoy your week-end! Robyn.

Beautiful Paintings!!

Hi everyone, just wanted to show you these beautiful paintings that just arrived yesterday. I bought them from a talented ebay artist by the name of Peter. You can visit his ebay page by clicking on the following link:

We are re-decorating our family room and wanted something to match the blue and white colour scheme. I was so thrilled with these, they just lift the room beautifully. My photos don't really do them justice, they look even better on our wall.

So pop on over and visit this ebayer, he paints the most beautiful artwork.

Just a Little Peek from my Painting Room

I've just finished painting on this old leather bag. I like the way the soft brown of the leather complements the old style of bears I've painted.

Just some final tweaking and I like to leave my painting 24 hours drying at least before I hand varnish.

I've had a productive day today, have part finished a vintage collar box and a vintage jewellery box, all for ebay.

Better get back to it now.

Have a lovely evening, Robyn.

Sweet Little Thread Bears

Well I've just listed these sweet little collectable bears on Ebay. Just click on my Ebay link to pop over and take a look.

Aren't they adorable?

They are all completely hand crocheted by my dear Mum. She has been making bears for many years now. She used to always make the mohair type, but these have now been passed on to my sister and me for safekeeping, as she no longer has room for them to live with her.

These days she gains much pleasure in makeing these tiny bears, especially since they don't take up much room. Also they're great for keeping secrets, they never answer back, and don't cost anything to feed!

What more could one ask for in a companion?

I'm gradually getting on with my painted items and hope to have them up for sale soon. Hopefully I can get a clear space over the next week or so, without too many interruptions.

The necessities of life always interfere with the pleasurable creative activities.
If only there were more hours in the day!

Work is good!!

Last Night I was looking through my small collection of old postcards and photos, and came across this vintage postcard.

I just had to share this with you as I think it's so true. Especially for those of us who love to create. Anything like that we can put our mind to, whether it be art, craft, sewing quilting, embroidery, bear making, etc., etc., is just so good for our health.

For me when I'm doing my painting, I find it just takes me away to another place where I think of nothing else but the piece I'm working on. It's just so calming and pleasant.

Even though the words on the card refer to any type of work, and there's lots of work we all hate doing and complain about. But wouldn't life be dull and boring if we had nothing at all to keep us occupied??

I hope that some of your daily work is taken up with creating something beautiful or doing something you really enjoy.

Treasure every moment and have a great day!!

My Teddy Quote for the Week!

"An experienced Teddy Bear brings with him a lifetime of knowledge and experience; the wisdom of silence and stillness in moments of great turmoil. The long-suffering patience that is learned when belonging to a child who is coming of age, and coping with the bewilderment that this period of time can bring, is what he does best. The experienced bear has seen life through the heart and eyes of a child grown to adulthood and perhaps even accompanied that adult all the way to the end of the road."    Ted Menton from "The Teddy Bear Lovers Catalogue"

I'm delighted to say that my 2 bears and all of my "Busy Bee" boxes are now sold. Thankyou so much!
More new items coming soon. Have a lovely week-end!

Check out my current items for sale on my Ebay!

Hi just wanted to let you know I've just listed a batch of items for sale on my Ebay. Just click on the Ebay link on my home page to take you straight there and have a look.

I've added another of my Busy Bee boxes, this time it's a bear maker one. I thought it would be very useful for a bear maker or sewer.
This one features another vintage image from http://jraesshabbycottage.blogspot.com/  Julie has some beautiful images to share, so please do take a look at her blog. I think this box is really my favourite of the three boxes I've made so far. Let me know what you think.

I've also finally completed my 2 sweet prim shabby pink bears.
One is "I Love You" bear, she carries a wooden heart, which I've painted with these words on it.

The other is "The Key to my Heart" bear.

I've really enjoyed making the bears and am pleased with the way they turned out. I used a pattern from Sheila over at http://thecraftaholiccreations.blogspot.com/. Take a look at her blog, she's very talented and has some lovely designs for sale.

These items have now been sold thankyou!
