Camera Still not working - so did some home baking!

My camera still isn't working so looks like I'll have to buy a new one. Really don't like having to put time into hunting around for new camera when I could be doing other more creative and interesting things.

I did manage to take some pics though of some baking I did before the camera packed it in. Baking is another of my passions and I always like to have things on hand in the freezer for when they're needed.

I love baking scones, all that rubbing in of butter and flour and kneading of dough is therapeutic for me ( not to mention eating them too !! Tee Hee!!) Even though I love the process of making them, that doesn't mean they always turn out right. With me, they are always a bit of a lucky dip.

But this time they turned out just perfect!!     Sultana Scones!! Mmmmm!

Bring on the Jam & Cream!! Will start diet next week!! Lol!!

Teddy Bear Chair for Ebay

Have completed the chair and it's now available in my ebay for you to purchase. How cute does it look with the little bears on it. (Sorry but they're not included)

I'll also be sending my shabby rose photo frame and mirror to ebay tonight. So just click on my ebay link to have a peek at what I've got on at the moment.

Was so pleased that I'd taken all the photos I needed for ebay as my camera has packed up. Can't do a thing with it!! Haven't had it that long really, only 4 or 5 years, things aren't made to last any more. Looks like a trip to the camera shop tomorrow!

The chair is now sold thankyou!

Teddy Bear Chair for Ebay

I've been busy shabbying up this cute little old teddy bear seat and I thought I'd give you a little preview before I list it on ebay.
It's almost finished except for the little bear with the golly girl.
I'm happy with the way it's coming along and I love the pinks and greens of the bears and golly's clothing.
I just need to work out what I'm going to paint around the top edge of the seat and also it needs something at the sides of the legs. You can click on the image for a larger view of the painting, but please respect copyright laws by not copying my work, thankyou.
'Shabbying' things up is lots of fun and something I really enjoy doing. I especially enjoy searching for old wares that would be suitable for doing up in this way, and then painting them in my favourite antique white, or crisp white and then sanding this off around the edges. The finished result is very pleasing.
If you have any questions about purchasing this item you can email me at robyn238@gmail.com or just leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

A Morning at the Beach

We've had such a hot humid summer here this year, so this morning my hubby and I took time out and headed off to our favourite beach to cool off. It was such a beautiful day and we felt so fortunate to live just a short drive away from this beautiful beach. The water was so refreshing and we returned home feeling relaxed and much, much cooler! And no sorry that isn't me with the surfboard!! If only Lol!!!

'I Love You' Romantic French Shabby Photo Frame

I've almost finished this lovely photo frame for Valentine's Day. I had really hoped to have it completed sooner but nevertheless all it needs now is a couple of coats of varnish and will be ready for purchase by end of the week.

It's a lovely dark wooden frame over which I've painted a crisp white and then given this finish a shabby look.

It displays a very romantic appearance with the trailing pink roses and ribbon and the french words "Je t'aime", (I Love You), painted on the bottom corner.

Would be ideal for displaying that special photo of your loved one.

I've included a very sweet photo in the frame, from Renae over at My Little Raggedy Blessings, I think it really sets the frame off.

Let me know what you think and if you have any questions about purchasing please email me or leave a comment.

Shabby Art!! French Provincial Mirror

In between bear making and bear painting I've also been shabbying up a few pieces. Just another thing I like to do. It's fun to transform old pieces into lovely fresh new pieces, but still have them retain the old worn appearance.
The frame on this mirror has some lovely sculptured features. The frame itself is made from some type of synthetic material and had a gold finish. I've painted the frame in my favourite antique white and sanded the edges lightly, so as touches of gold show through, to give it that wonderful french provincial appearance. I felt it didn't need any decorative painting added to it, as it has it's own decorative sculpture.
I've then hand varnished with several coats for protection.
The mirror has some very tiny scratches which are hardly noticeable.
I intend to list this in my ebay very soon, but if you would like to make a purchase the price is $30 plus postage.
You may contact me with any questions at robyn238@gmail.com
I accept bank deposit (Australian buyers only) or Paypal.

Mirror now sold thankyou!

Rosie & Poppy and Teddy Bag are now available on my Ebay!!

Well I've just finished listing Rosie & Poppy as well as my painted teddy design of 'Mother & Baby Bear' on my Ebay. They are now available to purchase.
I think I'll feel a little sad about having to part with Rosie & Poppy. I really enjoyed making Rosie. As I'm always usually painting bears it was such a change to actually make a bear.

I'm hoping to make more bears as the year progresses and also some raggedy annie dolls, which are sooo cute.

Rosie and Poppy are now adopted and the teddy bag has been sold. Thankyou!

But Wait there's More!!

I've also been busy doing some teddy painting on this cute little evening bag.

This has to be one of my favourite designs of the love shown between mother and baby. Just a final coat of varnish and it will be ready for purchase. How lovely would this look displayed amongst your bear collection.

A New Beginning!!

Hello and a belated Happy New Year to all! I'm back into creating again after having a lovely Christmas and a nice rest.
I'm looking forward to lots of creative pursuits this year, with lots of new ideas coming up.
Have had my fingers in a few different pies of late, one of which has been the making of Rosie. I've almost finished Rosie and her little friend Poppy. I've enjoyed the experience and fun of putting this bear together. Also with Valentines Day approaching I decided the project should have a love theme. She has her companion Poppy (one of Mum's crocheted bears), and I've made a little patchwork heart with a key attached and also I've painted a shabby wooden heart with matching roses which will be tied to her paw.
Just a few final tweaks here and there before I put her on my ebay next week.
